Isles of Sea and Sky Guide

100% Completion Guide

Quick answer

100% today means all 120 stars (109 at launch + 11 from the Mysterious Update), every elemental gem, 18 obsidian, 30 pyramidions and 5 meteorites. Nothing is missable — you can always come back.

100% in Isles of Sea and Sky means: every star, every gem, every secret — and since July 2025, the Mysterious Update's collectibles on top. Nothing is permanently missable; you can keep playing after the credits.

Route to 100%

  1. Finish the story first. Reach the Sanctum and roll the ending (walkthrough) — mutable collectible layers are much easier with full movement.
  2. Lock in movement: all four upgrades and all six runes (upgrades and runes).
  3. Sweep the islands for stars and gems. Remember the map counts for you; the table below is where the awkward ones live.
  4. Clean up the update layer: the circlet, the wall writing, pyramidions and meteorites (pyramidions, Mysterious Update).

Where the awkward collectibles hide

From the community's collection notes (numbers for the main islands are on the in-game map):

IslandNotes
Starting island3 stars — one sits behind the Sanctum's gate
Stoney CliffsSeal quiz at A2, instrument quiz at D1; 10 earth gems; a star underground needs Flippers; some underground walls can be broken
Tidal ReefInstrument quiz at D1; 10 water gems; one star needs Wings, one hides behind a waterfall; the changing water level opens paths
Raging VolcanoStatue quiz at D4, instrument quiz at B3; 10 fire gems; two stars need a bridge built from the neighbouring room; exploding crates ignite each other
Frozen SpireInstrument quiz at D4; 10 wind gems; one star means gliding over a hole to a secret staircase; dropping a wooden crate from high up destroys it
Snake island10 stars; the top room is sealed by the four elemental runes (opening it wants 9 obsidian)
The four elemental mini-islands3 stars each (one from knocking the giant bell); each has a bell locked by the Grass rune
Grass Rune island1 star, no requirements
Red Mountain islandKnock all four giant bells to open the gate — this unlocks the giant bird travel
Bird-only island1 star and an obsidian behind a secret passage
South-pole grass island7 stars and 4 gems — expects all four upgrades
Tiny water island below Frozen Spire1 star; copy the crate arrangement from Stoney Cliffs room B3 (the mark between the rocks matches)

The fine print

  • Stars were recalculated in community records: snake island's total was corrected from 11 to 10 at launch, and the Mysterious Update added 11 more (including 8 from paired-elemental rooms, one below the snake island landing, one in Tidal Reef's hidden shells, one below the Frozen Spire birds). The current ceiling is 120.
  • A community footnote on keys: after full completion, players have reported roughly 13 keys left unaccounted for — nobody has confirmed which final key/door pair is the odd one. If you are one key short of "everything", you are not alone.
  • Instrument quizzes (the note-based rooms) appear on Stoney Cliffs, Tidal Reef, Raging Volcano and Frozen Spire.
  • The sleep-spot meta and the spiral teleport network are part of the update-era 100%.

FAQ

Do achievements require 100%? Almost — all except Power Napper, and even that only wants an idle hour (achievements). But 100% in the artsy sense (all stars and gems) is a self-set challenge with extra ending themes as the reward.

Can I get everything after the ending? Yes. The game continues from the Sanctum after the credits, and every collectible remains accessible. Nothing is timed, nothing is one-shot.

Is anything randomised against me? Meta puzzles and some routes are randomised per save (that is deliberate), but totals, gates and rewards are fixed. Randomisation changes how, never whether.
